Electric Taxi Service in Kochi
Avancer runs 22 electric cabs in Kochi, a mix of electric sedans and larger electric cars, for airport transfers, office commutes and city trips. Every car is commercially registered, driven by our own verified chauffeurs and booked the same way as any Avancer cab.
Quiet cabin, no exhaust fumes, a cool AC that does not need an idling engine. And the fleet is still growing.

Built for the Trips Kochi Takes Most
Most of the kilometres our cabs cover in a normal week are not long tours. They are runs between Kakkanad and Cochin International Airport, shift pickups for Infopark and SmartCity offices, hotel transfers in Fort Kochi and Marine Drive, and day trips to places like Alleppey or Thrissur. These are predictable distances with plenty of stop and start traffic, which is exactly where an electric car is at its best.
So we started moving those routes to electric. Today 22 of our cars are electric, all registered in Ernakulam, and new EVs are joining as older vehicles retire. Our corporate clients asked for lower emission commutes, our guests noticed how quiet the ride was, and our drivers prefer a car that stays cool in a traffic jam without an engine running.
We are a transport company, not a car seller, so this page sticks to what matters when you book: which cars we run, where they work well, and where we will honestly suggest a different vehicle.
What to Expect on an Electric Ride
If you have not ridden in an electric taxi before, very little changes on your side. Here is how a typical booking runs.
-
STEP 1
Ask for electric when you book
Call, WhatsApp or send an enquiry and mention you want an EV. We check your route, confirm availability and send your quote before anything is fixed.
-
STEP 2
A cool cabin at pickup
Look for the green number plate. Because the AC runs from the battery, the driver can keep the car cool while waiting without an idling engine or exhaust at the kerb.
-
STEP 3
A quiet, smooth drive
No engine noise and no gear changes, so calls and conversations are easy even in Vyttila or Edappally traffic. Every trip is GPS tracked by our control room.
-
STEP 4
Arrive and pay as quoted
You pay the fare agreed at booking. If plans change mid trip, tell the driver and our team will confirm the revised route and charge range before you continue.
Popular Electric Taxi Trips from Kochi
Cochin Airport Transfers
Roughly 30 km from the city to the world's first fully solar powered airport. A fitting way to arrive. See our Kochi airport taxi details.
Infopark and SmartCity Commutes
Fixed shift routes in Kakkanad suit EVs perfectly. Pair them with our Infopark cab service for staff transport.
City Hourly Hire
Meetings across Edappally, Vyttila and MG Road, or a Fort Kochi and Mattancherry sightseeing loop, with the car waiting quietly between stops.
Short Outstation Day Trips
Plains routes such as Kochi to Alleppey or Thrissur and back usually fit within a single charge in our larger EVs.
When We Will Suggest a Different Car
Long climbs to Munnar, Wayanad or Thekkady, multi day circuits, and trips into areas with few fast chargers can stretch an electric car's day. Steep ghat roads use more energy going up, and a charging stop in the middle of a tour is time you would rather spend sightseeing.
For those routes we will tell you up front and offer a sedan, an Innova Crysta or a tempo traveller instead. We would rather lose an EV booking than give you a trip that does not work.
How We Plan Every EV Trip
- 1Route check. We look at your pickup, drop, stops and waiting time before choosing which electric car to send.
- 2Charge matched to the trip. The car is only assigned if its charge comfortably covers your trip with a buffer for traffic and AC.
- 3Drivers trained on EVs. Our chauffeurs know regenerative braking, smooth acceleration and the fast chargers along the NH corridor around Edappally, Maradu and the airport.
- 4Same backup as every Avancer cab. GPS tracking and our 24/7 control room, with a replacement car sent if anything goes wrong.
Electric Cab vs Regular Cab: What Changes for You
| What you notice | Avancer electric taxi | Diesel or petrol taxi |
|---|---|---|
| Cabin noise | Near silent at low speed, easy to take calls | Engine and gearbox noise, more vibration |
| AC while waiting | Runs from the battery, no idling engine | Engine must idle to keep the AC on |
| Fumes at pickup | None from the car | Exhaust at kerbside and in basements |
| Ride in traffic | Smooth, no gear shifts | Depends on gearbox and driver |
| Long hill tours | Planned with charging, or we suggest another car | No charging planning needed |
Electric Employee Transport and Business Travel
Employee commuting and business travel are both counted under Scope 3 in greenhouse gas reporting, and many Indian listed companies now disclose these figures in their BRSR reports. Moving regular commute and airport routes to electric cabs is one of the more practical ways to bring those numbers down without changing how your people travel.
We can assign EVs to fixed shift routes, mix them with conventional cars for longer trips, and share trip records you can use in your own reporting. Read more about our corporate cab service and employee shuttle service.
